Before his demise, Dracula confronted Mara, but was either unable, or unwilling to destroy his former love. While he was alive, Dracula founded the Drăculești, an order which to the present day fight to uphold the teachings and principles of Vlad Dracula. After doing so, Mara was turned into a Vampire, and assumed the role as their queen.
Mara seduced Dracula's best friend and most trusted companion at the time, Callisto. While he was alive, he had a lover named Mara however, Mara was turned against him by Lilith, who sought to destroy Dracula. Vlad Dracula, also known as Vlad the Impaler (Vlad Tepes), and the Dragon, was a legendary monster slayer and prince of Wallachia, part of what is now present-day Romania.
